Thinking about Universal Orlando? You’re in for a treat. It’s not just rides and thrills—it’s four entire parks, three new hotels (plus plenty more), and now Epic Universe, the newest addition that landed in May 2025.
Expect classic favourites like Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay… then add a brand-new park bursting with Super Mario, Harry Potter, dragons, monsters and more. Epic Universe alone could easily take up a whole holiday.
This page brings it all together: help with choosing the right park days, booking your stay, and squeezing in all the highlights (and snacks) without losing your mind. Whether you’re just dipping a toe or planning a full-on Universal holiday, this guide has your back.
Let’s be honest — Universal Orlando’s not just a theme park anymore. It’s a full-blown holiday destination. Four parks, loads of hotels, and more to do than you’ll probably manage in one trip. Still, you’ve got to start somewhere.
The newest kid on the block is Epic Universe. It opened in May 2025 and, honestly, it’s a bit of a game-changer. Five themed areas, including Super Nintendo World and a new bit of Harry Potter magic, plus dragons, monsters, and coasters that launch you into the sky before you’ve even finished your breakfast.
It’s big. Like, properly big. And it feels different — more immersive, more spaced out, maybe even a bit more relaxed? Or at least, as relaxed as a theme park can be when kids are sprinting to meet Mario and there’s a dragon flying overhead.
You’ll probably want at least a day here. Two if you don’t fancy rushing or queuing for everything in the heat.
Don’t sleep on the original three. There’s still loads to do:
Studios is all about films and shows — some rides are loud, some are clever, some are surprisingly emotional.
Islands of Adventure brings in the big stuff — rollercoasters, superheroes, Jurassic dinosaurs, and more butterbeer than anyone really needs.
Volcano Bay is technically a water park but feels more like a tropical day off. Lazy rivers, raft rides, and loungers with actual shade.
You could easily spend a day in each. Or mix and match. No one gets it “right” — that’s kind of the point.
If you want to stay close to the new park, look at the three new options:
Stella Nova and Terra Luna are the more affordable ones. Big, modern, nothing too fancy — but they get the job done and come with early entry perks.
Helios Grand is the posh one. It’s got rooftop bars, themed kids’ rooms, and even its own entrance into Epic Universe.
All three are right next to the new park. You’ll still need a shuttle to reach the original parks, but that’s included.
If you’re looking to save a bit more or stay closer to the older parks, there’s always Cabana Bay, Aventura, or Endless Summer. Those have pools, food courts, and solid family rooms. Basic, but good.
Download the app — wait times, maps, mobile ordering. You’ll thank yourself later.
Take a break mid-trip — use Volcano Bay or the pool to reset.
Get Early Park Admission if you're staying on-site. It makes a difference.
Don’t overdo it — it’s tempting to pack in four parks in four days, but sometimes slower days make for better memories.
You don’t need to see and do every single thing. Some of the best bits happen in between — queuing for popcorn, wandering through Diagon Alley, or just collapsing on a bench with a cold drink. The big rides are great, but it’s the little moments that stick.
