Review: Walt Disney World Swan

THE VIBE

Tropical landscaping, idyllic waterways, and stunning art and architecture are what make the Swan Resort such as enticing place to stay. Recent refurbishments including inviting lobbies, and implementing the latest technology further projects the Swan Resort as one of the most iconic landmarks in the Disney Resort complex.

SETTING

In the heart of the Walt Disney World Resort the Walt Disney World Swan Resort is beautifully poised between Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios. If you are flying to Orlando International Airport then this is only a short 20 minute journey to the resort. Other nearby attractions includes Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The boardwalk is in walking distance for a spot of evening entertainment.

AT THE HOTEL

When staying at a Disney World resort you may have preconceptions that it’s solely targeted at the children, but there are many activities for adults to. In total there are 81 holes to enjoy on the golf courses; Magnolia Golf Course is the pick with its PGA tour status, and as a Disney customer you will receive special treatment for teeing off times.

Mums will love the Mandara Spa, providing state of the art beauty treatments and pampering. To stay in shape there is a health club that is filled with a vast quantity of modern machinery. On your day off from the theme parks there is an attractive selection of pools, water rentals, and even a beach to enjoy.

IN THE ROOMS

All rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort portray a contemporary design. The Westin Heavenly Bed provides a great nights rest. Standard rooms come with a king or queen double bed, high speed internet access, a 32 inch flat screen television, climate control, and a daily newspaper to look forward to.

There are also 5 types of suites available, offering more space and additional amenities. The Premium Studio for example has twice the space of the standard guest rooms including a lounge area. Or for the ultimate luxurious accommodation the presidential suite comes with luxurious extras including a grand piano, Jacuzzi, kitchen, and a games console.

FOOD & DRINK

There are no fewer than 17 restaurants and lounges that undoubtedly will suit every occasion. For casual Food & Drink during the day the Fresh Mediterranean Market uses local ingredients and draws its inspiration from Spain, France, and Italy. The children will love Picabu restaurant characterised by its animated decoration and a speedy service.

Or for a special night try one of the 4 signature restaurants for an unforgettable culinary experience with its choices of steak, Italian, and Japanese. There are also 5 individual lounges, designed to perfection and can be the perfect escape for parents to enjoy a freshly prepared cocktail when the kids are out of sight.

FOR KIDS

Special children’s programmes include Camp Dolphin which runs every evening from 5pm until midnight. Here children of the ages 4-12 can enjoy arts, crafts, movies, and themed nights to give parents a night off. Mini golf is another fun activity for the young ones who will relish the 36 Fantasia inspired holes. Many other recreational activities also exist for the children such as tennis, volleyball, basketball, and a games room.
