Review: Walt Disney World Dolphin

THE VIBE

The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel puts you at the heart of the action and provides everything you could wish for from your Florida holiday. As the sister hotel to the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, the Dolphin has the same sophisticated and relaxing feel on the white-sand shores of Crescent Lake.

SETTING

The waterfront Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel sits on the lovely Crescent Lake, and is inspired by the State of Florida itself. The classic architecture features elaborate fountains and giant palm trees, topped off with a pair of 56-foot dolphins on the roof. Being at the heart of the Walt Disney World® Resort you are never far away from fun and there are complimentary shuttles to transport you to the magical world of Disney.

AT THE HOTEL

The luxurious refurbishment has really enhanced guests’ experience and made the hotel truly magical. As well as the theme parks the resort has 2 health clubs (for guests aged 16 and over) offering tennis, swimming pools and a gym featuring state-of-the-art equipment from Life Fitness. If you’re after a more relaxing break then the Asian-inspired Mandara Spa and Salon is perfect whether you’re looking for a massage, new hairstyle or make-up tips.

There is also a 24-hour convenience store and a variety of other shops stocking everything from upscale fashion to Disney character merchandise.

IN THE ROOMS

The luxurious guest rooms in Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel have recently been redesigned with sophistication and comfort in mind. The main feature of every room is the Westin Heavenly Bed® providing you with the ultimate place to rest your head after a hard day out in the resort. Other features include a 32” flat-screen LCD television, alarm clock with mp3 connection, high-speed Internet access, coffeemaker, mini-fridge and complimentary daily newspaper delivery.

FOOD & DRINK

There are so many Food & Drink options, 17 restaurants and lounges in fact, you’d never manage to sample all the delights that Food & Drink at Disney has to offer. If you’re after something quick and easy then Pickabu’s is the place for you, the 24-hour buffet gives you America’s favourite foods in a fun and inviting environment.

Cabana Bar and Beach Club is perfect if you get peckish by the pool, serving light bites and cocktails. For a special occasion or if you just fancy more elegant Food & Drink then head to Todd English’s bluezoo for fresh seafood and gourmet coastal cuisine.

FOR KIDS

Disney was designed with kids in mind and Camp Dolphin is an extension of that ethos. The evening club provides kids with an exciting range of activities from arts and crafts to Disney movies, giving parents a chance to relax and enjoy some more adult time.
