6 Beaches You Must Visit In Florida

When I think of going on holiday to Florida, what usually springs to my mind is spending the whole time at theme parks like Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando Resort™. Although an action-packed holiday is exciting, you might be looking for a slower paced getaway or a mixture of thrills and chills. If you didn’t already know, Florida is a great place to soak up the sun, build sandcastles or relax with a cocktail in hand. Here’s a list of 6 Beaches You Must Visit In Florida:

1) Cocoa Beach

Travel just an hour from USA’s holiday hotspot, Orlando, to find the closest coastline, so you can have a day by the sea. Cocoa Beach is the best place to take your family for lots of fun. When you stroll along the historic pier make sure to soak up the breathtaking views of the ocean, then browse the boutique shops and eat in the delicious restaurants. You’ll be able to find Ron Jon Surf Shop, the largest surf shop in the world here. So, if you’re feeling adventurous, why not grab a board? Hit the waves and enjoy your holiday.

2) Siesta Key Beach

Named USA’s best beach, twice, Siesta Key Beach is the paradise location you’ve been looking for. You’ll find some of the whitest and softest sand in the world here, and you’ll enjoy kicking off your flip-flops and running (safely) to the water. Complete your beach holiday experience by getting involved with fantastic activities from fishing and volleyball, to just relaxing in the sun. And, if after all this excitement you’ve built up an appetite, take a short walk from the shore to find amazing shops, cafés and restaurants.

3) Pensacola Beach

If you’re looking for white sand, but somewhere that’s more secluded, Pensacola beach will be ideal for you. This coastline takes the stress out of any holiday with plenty of room to stretch out on, and even lots of places to park your car. This beautiful location is also the best place to explore if you love wildlife and enjoy bird watching, plus there’ll be lots of opportunity to people watch too. When you’re thinking about winding down your trip here, you’ll be able to collect shells, do yoga with the sun setting in the background or simply sit and watch the lapping ocean.

4) Fort Myers Beach

Take birdwatching to another level at Fort Myers Beach, where you’ll be able to see pelicans up close while they wait for food from the local fisherman. If travelling on holiday for you is about having a break from day-to-day life and a relaxing atmosphere, then the amazing views of the ocean will be worth the visit. When you walk along this beach, you’ll feel the wind in your hair and the sand between your toes, instantly making you feel relaxed. This beach isn’t just about laid-back vibes though, if you’re a thrill seeker like me, you’ll love getting in the water to try kayaking and paddle boarding.

5) South Beach

Brighten up your holiday, even in the summer months when you visit Miami’s most popular coastline, South Beach. Renowned for its lively atmosphere and incredible nightlife, there’ll always be plenty of ways to enjoy a getaway here. Don’t be put off by this location if you’re travelling as a family, as there’s so much for you to do. Grab some roller skates, hop on a bike or just watch as others zoom past the beach. Going to the coast isn’t just about relaxing; South Beach is also about history and culture, with many of the lifeguard towers designed in the 1920’s iconic style of Art Deco.

6) Daytona Beach

Visit Florida’s Atlantic coast for a beach holiday like no other. Daytona Beach is the one destination that fully combines having a chilled out time with adrenaline pumping activities. And, for all you motorsports fans, this city is home to the Daytona International Speedway. If you’re visiting in February, you’ll be able to watch cars take to the track for the famous Speedweeks. If you enjoy an adventure, this location is bursting with excitement from the moment you arrive. Just off the waterfront, you’ll be able to have a splashing time in the waterpark, Daytona Lagoon, or a thrilling experience on the amusement rides. Plus, you’ll be able to listen to live music at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, or my personal favourite; drive onto the beach so that you can watch the sunset from the comfort of your ride.
